Thanks for the Magical Adventure with Anja

Even though it's a gorgeous October day and we just jumped in a big pile of leaves, I'll confess, I'm getting excited for Christmas and a beautiful snowfall after reading The Reindeer Wish by Lori Evert. Anja (the sweet little imaginative girl from The Christmas Wish and The Tiny Wish) takes us on another magical adventure in the woods far far away where she discovers a lost baby reindeer. My favorite part of the book was when the reindeer went to school. The pictures of Anja (taken by her father Per Breiehagen, Lori's husband) are amazing! It's so easy to imagine being one with nature while reading this book. Last Christmas we were introduced to Anja and her wilderness friends. We're so excited to continue this journey with her as she helps prepare one of Santa's reindeer.

Great Book for Christmas Eve reading.

I buy a Christmas book each year for my grands. Last year it was the first book the wish. My heritage is from the Nordic countries so it is great to great to the little one's on Christmas eve. It always gives the children something to think about after and keeps that special feeling of magic in there heart.

About the Author

Jason E. Harlacher, PhD, is a researcher, consultant, and adjunct professor with over ten years of education experience. He works full time as a senior researcher at Marzano Research in Centennial, Colorado, and is coauthor of the Practitioner's Guide to Curriculum-Based Evaluation in Reading. Prior to joining Marzano Research, Dr. Harlacher worked as a school psychologist, a Response to Intervention consultant, and the state director for Positive Behavior Support of Nevada. He presents nationally on schoolwide prevention models and has published articles on RTI, social-emotional learning, and classroom interventions for ADHD. Dr. Harlacher earned a bachelor's of arts degree in psychology from Ohio University, a master's degree in school psychology from Utah State University, and a doctorate in school psychology from the University of Oregon.

High quality artwork with just a few minor drawbacks

Unbeatable price for the quality of prints, and a decent selection of games that should have something for everyone. As other reviewers have noted, the 40 posters are on 20 pieces of paper...so if you're looking to frame them you need to buy two copies of the collection. Some of my personal favorites of the covers represented here include the two Missle Commands, Surround, Super Breakout, and Warlords. Would have been nice if this included games like Codebreaker, Air Sea Battle, of any of the Activision games (such as Pitfall!)... and fewer generic sports titles. I'm sure there are licensing issues with some of the games that are missing, but maybe we'll see more in a volume 2??

Worth the 35 year wait...

This poster book is amazing capturing the artwork produced by Atari for its games. My formative years were spent with this art and it's nice to now be able to hang it anywhere I want. Super Breakout in the hallway, Haunted House (2 pieces included!!) in the guest bedroom, and Asteroids is going up in the powder room.

Folks if your like me and loved these games as a kid buy this poster book. I'm buying another for preservation.

Before I go... one slight negative... who decided to put the artwork of Yars Revenge on the flip side of Warlords???!!! Argh!!!

A great and easy way to display the real beginning of a video game "art renaissance"

The Atari we may remember may be long gone but their memories will always be in our hearts, and on our walls. These art portrait representations never looked better over 40 years, they're high quality prints with a good weight and thickness to them. This is my nostalgia and a great way for us to look back at the beginning of true video game art.

$70 for a book like this is common

$70 for a book like this is common, but in the real world, I wouldn't have paid $5 for this book. The academics are trying to shield themselves from the competitive market that the rest of us have to live in by "requiring" the latest edition of a dusty old book that has some good basic principles. One of my books was $290 at the college bookstore, but I got the previous edition for $7 on amazon. The only difference was that the chapters had been shuffled. Exact same material.
